Description
An Italian Christmas poem by Gabriele D'Annunzio arranged for Chorus or duet with 2 children's or 2 women's voices and keyboard accompaniment.
E mentre i sogni m'arridean soavi, tu piano, piano mi venivi a mettere confetti e soldarelli fra' i guanciali.

At the stump of a tree we used to make a manger with its valiant silver star, with the Wise Men and Shepherds properly placed and the countryside all dusted over.
In the evening I recited a short sermon with a voice as if singing a mass, and for this gracious vivacity I received kisses and pieces of flatbread.
Then, towards evening, you brought me to my Grandmother saying: "Tonight the Angel will bring you very beautiful gifts"! And as dreams gently smiled on me, you softly, softly came to me to put candy and coins under my pillows.
